13일 민중민주당(민중당)·세계반제플랫포옴(The World Anti-imperialist Platform)·21세기체게바라(Defense Brigade)는 케냐대사관앞에서 <이상훈대표등 세계반제플랫포옴대표단 즉각석방! 케냐 루토파쇼정권 규탄!> 긴급 기자회견을 진행했다.
12일 이상훈민중민주당전대표를 포함한 세계반제플랫포옴대표단이 <아프리카-프랑스서밋> 반대투쟁에서 평화행진중 케냐군경에게 불법연행됐다. 이에 민중민주당·세계반제플랫포옴·21세기체게바라는 케냐대사관 앞에서 케냐파쇼당국을 규탄하고 연행자 석방을 촉구하는 합법적인 기자회견을 진행했으나, 서울용산경찰서는 케냐대사관이 <한국>외교부에 항의하고 있다는 이유로 기자회견을 강제해산하고 참가자들을 폭력적으로 이격했다.
사회를 맡은 민중민주당반미반전특별위원회위원장은 <<한국> 아침시간으로 루토당국에 의해서 불법연행된지 벌써 12시간이 훌쩍 넘었다.>며 <세계반제플랫포옴은 9일에서 10일 케냐 나이로비에서 세계반제전선과 세계반제투쟁의 강화발전을 위한 토론과 합의를 진행했다. 그리고 12일 <아프리카-프랑스서밋>의 신식민주의적 약탈을 강력규탄하고 케냐의 루토정권 파쇼탄압을 엄중배격하는 실전투쟁을 전개하는 중이었다. 루토정권은 명백하게 파쇼정권이라는 것을 이번 일을 통해서 다시 한번 보여줬다. 기자회견을 통해서 이상훈전대표를 비롯해서 세계반제플랫포옴 대표단의 정당한 투쟁을 알리고 그들의 즉각 석방을 요구하고자 한다.>고 발언했다.

한명희민중민주당당대표는 <우리나라 국민이 아프리카 케냐에서 평화적인 행진을 하다가 세계반제플랫포옴 대표단들과 함께 최루탄을 쏘며 행진을 가로막는 군인들에 의해서 탄압받고 불법으로 연행되었는데 (<한국>외교부는) 이 사실을 알고 있는가. <한국>의 외교부는 지금 무엇을 하고 있나.>며 <아프리카와 프랑스가 공동으로 회의를 하면서 계속해서 아프리카를 제국주의의 지배를 받게 하려는 것에 반대하는 반제국주의 투쟁을 벌인 것이다. 여기에 제국주의의 사주를 받는 케냐의 파쇼적인 루토정부가 경찰도 아니고 군인을 동원해서 아직까지도 최루탄을 난사하면서 평화적인 행진을 하는 전세계적 반제인사들, 평화애호인사들을 잡아 가둔 것이다.>고 강력히 규탄했다.
이어 <우리는 이 사실을 <한국>외교부와 케냐당국에 분명하게 알리고 규탄하고 당장 이상훈 민중민주당전대표와 세계반제플랫포옴 대표단들을 석방할 것을 강력하게 촉구하는 것이다. 케냐에서 <한국>인 두명과 전세계 유럽, 아메리카, 아시아, 아프리카 곳곳의 세계반제 투쟁을 하는 동지들이 13명이나 불법으로 구금되어 있다.>며 <지금 이 동영상은 실시간으로 전세계 수많은 곳에서 상영되고 있으며, 이 투쟁을 보면서 전세계 반제투쟁을 하는 동지들은 더욱더 힘을 내서 케냐당국의 불법적인 폭력적인 석방구금에 반대할것이며 그 투쟁은 점점 더 커질 것이다.>고 경찰의 강제해산 움직임에 대해 경고했다.
이적민통선평화교회담임목사는 <아침에 우리의 동지가 평화활동을 하다가 바로 체포되었다는 소식을 듣고 우리는 기어이 기자회견을 갖겠다고 생각하고 바로 이 현장으로 달려왔다. 그런데 여기 와보니까 케냐당국에 우리가 규탄을 할 것이 아니라 우리나라 경찰들에게 한마디 해야 되겠다는 생각이 들었다.>며 <우리는 케냐에서 잡혀있는 우리의 동지를 바로 석방하라는 것을 요구하고 있는 것이다. 여러분들은 우리의 동지가 그곳에서 아직도 구금되어 있다는 사실을 안다면 빨리 외교부로 연락해서 석방될 수 있도록 하는 것이 여러분들의 의무이다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 정당한 기자회견을 하는 앞에서 이렇게 강압적이고 독단적인 모습을 보이고 있다. 여러분들이 우리를 끌고 가면 우리는 더욱더 끈질기게 싸울 것이다.>고 항의했다.
김장민정치경제학연구소프닉스상임연구위원은 <집회의 형식도 아닌 기자회견을 집회라고 하면 경찰들은 집시법 위반뿐만 아니라 정당연설회를 방해한 것이다. (경찰들에게) 우리의 신체를 접촉해서 강제력을 행사하면 책임을 물을 것임을 알린다.>고 목소리를 높였다.
이후 경찰은 민중민주당의 합법적인 기자회견을 강제해산하고 참가자들을 폭력적으로 이격했다.
민중민주당은 곧바로 인근에서 항의정당연설회와 철야1인시위에 돌입했다.

민중민주당전대표 이상훈21세기체게바라단장과 세계반제플랫포옴대표단이 루토당국에 의해 불법연행된지 12시간을 넘기고 있다. 세계반제플랫포옴은 9~10일 반제국제컨퍼런스, 국제콜로키움을 통해 세계반제전선과 세계반제투쟁의 강화·발전을 위한 토론과 합의를 진행했다. 이어 12일 <아프리카-프랑스서밋(아프리카포워드서밋)>의 신식민주의적 약탈을 강력 규탄하고 케냐 루토정권의 파쇼탄압을 엄중 배격하는 실천투쟁을 전개했다. 그러던중 케냐당국에 의해 불법·폭력적인 탄압을 받았다. 아프리카-프랑스서밋반대집회·행진은 집회신고를 마친 합법적이며 평화적인 실천투쟁이었다. 그럼에도 당국은 진압과정에서 최루탄을 쐈고 군인을 동원해 영장 없이, 구금사유 없이 무자비하게 연행했다.
루토당국의 파쇼만행을 가장 강력히 규탄한다. 당일 17시에 아프리카-프랑스서밋은 종료됐음에도 루토당국은 세계반제플랫포옴대표단을 계속 구금한 채 최소한의 식사, 기초생필품을 일절 제공하지 않고 급기야 법적조력권행사도 가로막는 최악의 인권유린을 자행하고 있다. 기간 제국주의파쇼주구 루토정권은 자원안보, 국가안정을 이유 삼아 케냐맑스주의공동주의당(CPMK) 부커 오몰레총서기를 비롯한 공동주의세력, 반정부세력에 대한 납치·테러·불법연행·폭력·고문을 공공연히 벌여왔다. 2024년 신자유주의반대시위에 실탄을 사격해 60명 넘게 학살했고, 군대를 동원해 사실상 계엄을 조장하기도 했다. 지금 이상훈단장과 송단비민중민주당국제위원은 인권말살, 파쇼범죄의 루토당국에 맞서 묵비단식투쟁을 전개하고 있다.
파쇼탄압의 배후에 제국주의세력이 있다. 마크홍프랑스정부는 프랑스제국주의군이 서아프리카, 사헬3국에서 쫓겨나자 그영향력을 동아프리카로 확장하려는 재침략전략의 일환으로 프랑스·케냐방위조약을 체결하고 프랑스군을 몸바사에 주둔시켰다. 이번 아프리카-프랑스서밋에서 양국은 230억유로규모 투자패키지와 인프라·에너지·디지털·AI(인공지능)·기후부문에 합의했지만, 대부분 차관형태로 제공된다. 이미 막대한 부채를 안고 있는 케냐가 프랑스에 경제적으로 완전히 예속되고 케냐민중들은 채무노예로 전락되는 것은 시간문제다. 제국주의세력을 배후에 둔 루토파쇼정권의 세계반제플랫포옴대표단·국제활동가에 대한 극악무도한 파쇼탄압은 아프리카-프랑스서밋의 부당성과 불법성을 단적으로 보여준다.
세계반제플랫포옴대표단과 국제활동가들을 즉각 무조건 석방하라. 케냐법과 국제법을 난폭하게 유린하며 감행한 불법·폭력의 연행·구금으로 인해 전세계 모든대륙에서 규탄성명이 빗발치고 있으며, 규탄시위가 조직·전개되고 있다. 제국주의침략세력이 전세계에서 침략전쟁을 일으키는 지금, 제국주의·파쇼세력의 폭력과 압제를 투쟁으로 맞받아치며 전진하는 것이 현시기 진보주의자의 책무라는 것을 이순간 더욱 절감하게 된다. 민중민주당은 세계반제플랫포옴과 함께 아프리카·케냐민중의 반제자주와 민중해방을 향한 지향에 열렬히 호응하며 가장 강력한 연대와 실천을 선포했다. 억압이 있는 곳에 저항이 있고, 어둠이 깊을 수록 여명은 밝아온다. 우리는 세계피억압·피착취민중들과 함께 단결하고 투쟁하며 제국주의·파시즘을 타도하고 자주와 해방을 앞당겨 실현할 것이다.

Immediately Release Lee Sanghun, President of the People’s Democracy Party, and the Delegation of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform!
It has been over 12 hours since Lee Sang-hun, former president of the People’s Democracy Party and leader of the 21st Century Che Guevara, and the delegation of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform (Platform) were illegally detained by the Ruto authorities. On May 9 and 10, the World Anti-Imperialist Platform held an international anti-imperialist conference and a colloquium to discuss and reach agreements on strengthening and developing the global anti-imperialist front and struggle. Following this, on May 12, they carried out a practical struggle to strongly denounce the neocolonial plunder of the “Africa-France Summit” (Africa Forward Summit) and to sternly reject the fascist repression of the Ruto regime in Kenya. During this action, they were subjected to illegal and violent repression by the Kenyan authorities. The protest and march against the Africa-France Summit was a legal and peaceful action for which a rally notice had been duly filed. Nevertheless, the authorities fired tear gas during the crackdown and mobilized soldiers to ruthlessly detain the participants without warrants or grounds for detention.
We condemn the fascist atrocities of the Ruto authorities in the strongest possible terms. Although the Africa-France Summit concluded at 17:00 that day, the Ruto authorities continue to detain the Platform delegation, not even providing minimal meals or basic necessities, and have gone so far as to commit the worst human rights violations by blocking the exercise of the right to legal assistance. For some time, the Ruto regime—a fascist puppet of imperialism—has openly engaged in kidnapping, terrorism, illegal detention, violence, and torture against the Communist Party Marxist Kenya (CPMK) Secretary General Booker Ngesa Omole, as well as other communist and anti-government forces, under the pretense of resource security and national stability. In 2024, they massacred over 60 people by firing live ammunition at anti-neoliberalism protesters and effectively incited martial law by mobilizing the military. Currently, President Lee Sang-hun and Song Danbee, International Committee member of the People’s Democracy Party, are conducting a silent hunger strike in protest against the Ruto authorities that destroying human rights and committing fascist crimes.
Imperialist forces stand behind this fascist repression. After the French imperialist military was expelled from West Africa, the Sahel Alliance countries, the Macron government signed a France-Kenya Defense Cooperation Agreement and stationed French troops in Mombasa as part of a re-invasion strategy to expand its influence into East Africa. At this Africa-France Summit, the two countries agreed on an investment package worth 23 billion euros in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, digital, AI, and climate; however, most of this is provided in the form of loans. It is only a matter of time before Kenya, already burdened with massive debt, becomes completely economically subordinate to France and the Kenyan people are reduced to debt slaves. The atrocious fascist repression of the Platform delegation and international activists by the Ruto fascist regime, backed by imperialist forces, clearly demonstrates the injustice and illegality of the Africa-France Summit.
Immediately and unconditionally release the World Anti-Imperialist Platform delegation and international activists. Statements of condemnation are pouring in from all continents across the globe, and protest rallies are being organized and carried out in response to this illegal and violent detention and custody, which brutally violates Kenyan and international law. At a time when imperialist aggressors are instigating wars of aggression worldwide, we feel even more deeply at this moment that it is the duty of progressives to push forward by countering the violence and oppression of imperialist and fascist forces through struggle. Together with the World Anti-Imperialist Platform, the People’s Democracy Party has declared the strongest solidarity and action, passionately responding to the aspirations of the African and Kenyan people for anti-imperialist independence and people’s liberation. Where there is repression, there is resistance, and the deeper the darkness, the brighter the dawn. We will unite and struggle with the oppressed and exploited peoples of the world to overthrow imperialism and fascism and fasten the realization of independence and liberation.
